Introducing Titus Sharp

Artist • Glassmaker • Creator of Tonnauglas

We are incredibly proud to introduce the work of renowned West Wales artist Titus Sharp, the extraordinarily talented artist behind Tonnauglas.

Titus creates art with a story.

Working from the beautiful landscape of West Wales, his remarkable glasswork captures something that would ordinarily disappear in moments — the delicate ripples and patterns left in the sand by the movement of the sea.

Those fleeting impressions are transformed through glass into lasting works of art, preserving a tiny piece of the Welsh coastline in a completely unique way.

But the story behind the artist is every bit as remarkable as the work itself.

Titus's creative journey has been shaped by resilience, discovery and a deeply personal relationship with art. After experiencing significant challenges as a young man, he discovered in painting something much more powerful than simply making pictures. Creativity became a place of freedom — somewhere he could express what was happening within his mind when words weren't always enough.

He has described painting as being almost like hearing a symphony within his mind and allowing that composition to unfold through colour and paint.

That instinctive connection with creativity eventually led Titus from painting, furniture making and woodworking to the medium for which he has become particularly recognised: glass.

During a workshop with glass artist Bill Swann, Titus began experimenting with plaster impressions taken directly from ripples in beach sand. From that simple idea grew something extraordinary.

His Tonnauglas work celebrates the ever-changing relationship between sea, sand and light. Each cast preserves the natural marks created by the tide, transforming an ephemeral moment in nature into a permanent piece of glass art.

There is also a strong environmental heart behind his work. Titus hopes that by showing the extraordinary beauty found within our marine landscape and the Pembrokeshire coast, his art encourages us to notice it, value it and ultimately protect it.

His creativity reaches far beyond decorative glass. Titus has undertaken commissioned public artwork, including successful commissions for the Cardigan Integrated Care Centre, where his work has explored the relationship between art, light, movement, sound and mindfulness.

Perhaps what makes Titus's work so special is that it doesn't simply represent the landscape.

It carries a little piece of it.

The movement of  Tidal Sand Ripples.
The texture of the sand.
The changing light through glass.
And the hand and imagination of an artist whose journey has given him an extraordinary appreciation for beauty, creativity and the natural world.

Art, Reimagined in Cloth

We feel enormously privileged to work alongside Titus in bringing his artwork into another medium through the Tonnauglas Clothing Range.

For over twelve months, Titus and I have worked closely together to develop and grow this collection, transforming selected pieces of his artwork into beautiful wearable designs on carefully chosen organic cotton T-shirts and hoodies.

This is very much a collaboration. From selecting the artwork and considering its placement, scale and colour, through to the final print on the garment, we work together to make sure every detail feels right. It matters to both of us that the finished clothing remains true to Titus's original work and carries the same character, movement and beauty that inspired it.

The result is a clothing collection that feels like a natural extension of Titus's art — giving his work another canvas and allowing it to be experienced, worn and enjoyed in an entirely different way.

And just like the glasswork that inspired so much of his creative journey, these aren't designs created for mass production. They have a person, a place and a story behind them.

Through Tonnauglas, you can discover more of Titus's world, purchase his original artwork and glass pieces, explore his growing clothing collection, or speak to him about commissioning something truly individual.

We are incredibly proud to play our part in the Tonnauglas story and even prouder of the relationship we have built with Titus along the way.

From the movement of the Welsh tide, to glass, to art, to cloth —
a fleeting moment in nature becomes something you can keep, and now, something you can wear.
